Usability Of An Interactive Board Game As Therapy Tool In Children With Speech Sound Disorders

Articulation errors commonly occur in children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate (CLP) and adversely affect overall speech intelligibility. It is important to address articulation early reduce the impact on long term communication skills. Parental involvement has been shown increase effectiveness of therapy because parents were able carry out tasks consistently their own homes. This study aimed develop a Parent-Led Interactive Board Game (PLIBG) for CLP. In Phase I, market survey website search regarding existing board game conducted. II, prototypes using motor approach intervention developed trialled. Finally, III, usability newly called Monstack [1] was evaluated. Nineteen respondents comprising eight experienced speech-language pathologists (SLPs) eleven CLP or SSD recruited test prototype. Findings show that majority participants (94.7%) satisfied as tool therapy. 89.4% agreed fun all wants play again. Suggestions improve also documented.
